Frequently Asked Questions about Studying

Applications can be made at the Academic Office. If you ask the buddy teacher who takes care of you, she/he will kindly guide you. Of course, you can choose a specific person before admission.

The fee for changing from a Filipino teacher to a Native speaker one-on-one is $270 for 4 weeks.  If you want to add another Native speaker one-on-one class, it costs $350 for a 4-week class. (This price is as of 2022).

Since the Philippines has many national holidays, it is advisable to check how many national holidays there are before registering for short-term study abroad.

However, CIP English provides the following support to those who study abroad (1-3 weeks) regardless of the course.

Guaranteed classes 5 days a week. If there is a national holiday, reinforcement is made using the evening hours on Saturdays or weekdays.

Regular classes are available from Monday morning. Prepare the class schedule in advance by taking an online test before admission.

In principle, admission is possible on Saturday or Sunday. After that, there will be a level test and orientation on Monday, and regular classes will begin on Tuesday.

Admission is also possible on weekdays (Monday-Friday) due to personal circumstances. In this case, the level test and regular class schedule may vary depending on the time of arrival at school.

If you are considering admission on weekdays (Monday-Friday), we need to check the dormitory check-in and check-out schedules, so you should contact us before registering.

Class units at CIP English are 50 minutes.

Few Philippines ESL schools insist on 50-minute unit, but we believe that the 50-minute unit is the class unit that our body remembers and is the most ideal for teachers and students.

It is our judgment that an actual 40-minute or 45-minute class is not desirable for conducting an in-depth class.

CIP English operates with 50-minute lessons + 10-minute break.

After airport pick-up on Saturday or Sunday, you will check in at the school dormitory. Level test and orientation will be held from Monday morning on the first day, and daily necessities will be purchased and exchanged in the afternoon. Regular classes start on Tuesday.

However, short-term registration students for 1-3 weeks can participate in classes from Monday. There is no special schedule on Saturday and Sunday. Meals are provided, of course.

Under Spartan program, you are usually not allowed to go out on weekdays (Monday-Friday), and you must participate in compulsory self-study and tests after school.

CIP English’s Spartan program is no different from other schools. After school, you must review what you learned that day in the self-study room from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. In principle, you are not allowed to go out from Monday to Friday, but you can visit the coffee shop in front of the school during non-class time.

Note that the Spartan intensity of CIP English is not as tight as in schools in Baguio. It is similar to schools in Cebu.

There are Intensive ESL, IELTS Intensive, IELTS Score Guarantee, and TOEIC Score Guarantee Spartan programs available at CIP English.
